The Seneca Sting (0-6) fell to the St. Clair Saints (2-4) in the second game of their doubleheader 5-3 at Seneca Fields.

The teams rolled through the first two innings with pitchers Chantal Gendron (Seneca) and Hannah Desrosiers (St. Clair) keeping the runners off base and ultimately off the scoreboard.

The Saints struck first in the third inning when a single by Lauryn Schram scored Rya Cowan to open the scoring. Schram would later score on a Desrosiers single. The visiting team added three runs in the fourth inning with Cowan (2 RBIs) and Desrosiers (1 RBI) doing the damage at the plate.

The Sting responded in the sixth inning, loading the bases for the Leeanne Delorme. The second year centre fielder flew out to centre, scoring Katie Potter, but the Sting were unable to do any more damage in the inning.

Trailing by four runs, the Sting put up a fight in the seventh inning as Kiara Saito drove Danielle Pound home and moving Jasmin Namnama to third on the play. With runners on the corners, Kiara Thomas singled to centre field to score Namnama while Saito advanced to third. A hard-hit liner by Gendron went straight to the Saints third baseman to end the game, leaving a pair of runners on stranded.

Saito and Grace Michauville each went 2-for-4 while Saito, Thomas and Delorme each recorded an RBI.

Jenna Hillman (2-for-5, 1 run) and Desrosiers (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) topped the Saints at the plate. Cowan added a pair of RBIs while scoring twice and Schram and Sydney Shewell each finished with a run scored.

Gendron allowed 5 runs (1 earned) on 10 hits, 3 walks and 4 strikeouts in a complete game effort for the Sting. Desrosiers picked up the win for the Saints, allowed 3 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits, 1 walk and striking out 1 batter.
